When it comes to wedding planning, there is one task that couples look forward to more than almost anything else: the cake tasting! Here at Summerwood Sweets, we believe that choosing your wedding cake should be an unforgettable, personalized experience. Whether you are envisioning a classic tiered masterpiece featuring beautiful white and classic textures or something completely unique, the tasting is where that vision starts coming to life.
If you are newly engaged in the Greater Charlotte area, here is a behind-the-scenes look at what you can expect when you schedule a consultation and tasting.
An Elegant Atmosphere From the moment you arrive, we want you to feel celebrated. You will be seated in a beautiful, dedicated dining room styled with fresh florals dressing the table. Your cake and buttercream samples are elegantly presented on fine china, creating a refined and relaxing environment where you can truly savor the experience and envision your big day.
A Dedicated Hour of Design and Tasting Every tasting is a one-hour, private consultation designed specifically for you and your partner. The session is $55 per couple, which covers both the freshly prepared tasting portions and our dedicated time together. During this hour, we really get to know each other. Understanding your personality and your wedding aesthetic helps me create a design that perfectly fits your celebration.
The Best Part: The Flavors Our tasting menu allows you to mix and match to find your perfect pairing. You will get to sample three of our signature cake flavors along with three luxurious buttercream options. If you have a major sweet tooth or are torn between a few extra flavors, we can absolutely add more options to your tasting menu for a small additional cost.
Finalizing Your Custom Sketch While we enjoy the cake samples, we will dive into the visual details. As a cake designer, I love taking your inspiration and translating it into a concrete design. Together, we will finalize your custom cake sketch, ensuring every floral accent, texture, and tier is perfectly proportioned and exactly how you pictured it.
Securing Your Date Once the flavors are chosen and the sketch is finalized, we will take a few minutes to review and sign your contract, if we haven't already done so. This officially secures your date on the Summerwood Sweets calendar, giving you peace of mind so you can check one more major vendor off your list.
